Visualizing Scent for Scentsy

Have you ever thought about what a scent looks like? Which notes had to come together in perfect harmony to create your favorite scent?
This is the challenge our partners at Scentsy presented to the LaineGabriel team. For years, LaineGabriel has created amazing, memorable experiences for Scentsy Consultants at their annual conference, the Scentsy Family Reunion. Scentsy was ready to go beyond the expected General Sessions and Expos to an added experience that would be talked about for years. The solution? Bring the Scentsy scent categories to life through a series of stories and high-touch environments that encouraged consultants to live and breathe every scent note.
Seven Scent Categories. 30,000 square feet.
Challenge accepted.
Citrus, Spice, Fruit, Woods, Bakery, Fresh, and Floral. Each has its set of primary base notes, with layers upon layers (mid and top notes) to create unique scents tailored to varying tastes.
Where to start?
For each scent category, Scentsy selected its customers' favorite scents to be expanded into a visual delight. LaineGabriel then developed a narrative for each scent to be expanded into a multi-sensory experience, including sight, scent, sound, light, and, in some cases, taste
The result: Seven Scent Rooms; each with four scent experiences (Base note, Mid Note, Top Note, and the finalé- the Scent Reveal). A total of 28 scent experiences, wrapped in an unspoken story presented through all of the senses. Over 6,000 consultants walked through the Fragrance Experience. Collecting knowledge of the Scentsy Products, an understanding of how scent layering works, and, of course, more samples than they could take back to the hotel.
When you plan your next conference, how will you add depth and new experiences for your attendees? Need some creative inspiration? Reach out to LaineGabriel to explore the infinite possibilities.
